So a few weeks ago T-Mobile announced that they were going to be giving away free stuff! This excited me because I like free. Not that I'm cheap, but free is better than nothing.
Initially, it started off with the Stock Up program so that everybody on a T-Mobile postpaid account can claim a single share of T-Mobile stock. Currently worth: $45.44 so that's not a bad freebee. They also gave us free two Dominos pizzas, free frosties from Wendy's, a free movie ticket for Warcraft and free rides from Lyft. Other than that, I haven't used anything else. I'm being spammed by The Clymb (I've clicked unsubscribe with the last e-mail and yet I still somehow receive another one today... I haven't even ordered from them either) and I have absolutely no desire to take a 5 mile Lyft ride to save $30 on a hotel room.
It is my personal opinion that T-Mobile is getting lazy with their gifts offering us stuff that hardly anybody would want to take advantage of. This was probably their solution to their constant service congestion that they were having issues with for the first three weeks. Roughly the same time that Dominos opted out of the free pizza reward the service problem started to clear up. Now we have free magazine subscriptions, short trip rides from Lyft, coupon codes for overpriced camping gear and let's not forget the unlimited data for Pokemon GO. Am I the only one that would trade all of that for a free pizza and a movie ticket? Pizza costs... $15 at most? Movie ticket is about the same at $15, right? But they believe that we'd be far happier with a magazine subscription, $15 Lyft ride to catch Pokemon and save $30 at a hotel that has to be used by August 1st. It's so bad that last week I had completely forgotten about it until it was around nine at night. The only offer that I could take advantage of was the 50% off select accessories. But what T-Mobile store is open that late? But I really wasn't that disappointed over that loss either. So my question, do you take advantage of the gifts that T-Mobile is giving us?
Side note. AT&T is appearantly starting their own rewards program too. The Thanks program.
Strangely enough I found this from an article regarding the AT&T program:
Quote:
The AT&T Thanks program is set to offer qualified customers free movie tickets under the "Ticket Twosdays" promotion, which as the name suggests provides a free movie ticket with the purchase of a full-price ticket for a Tuesday movie through a partnership with MovieTickets.com |
Wow. That "Ticket Twosdays" sounds an awful like T-Mobile Tuesdays... but they're making it weekly. But T-Mobile plans to compete with this weeks free digital subscription to Traveler. Good comeback T-Mobile.
So I'm hoping that T-Mobile can see AT&T's competition for what it is and try harder to find better gifts for their customers. It'll be sad if I go to AT&T for their thanks program more than T-Mobile for theirs.
What do you think? Do you still like T-Mobile Tuesdays? Or are you like me and is it just getting stale?
