My phone "butt dials" on its own

I carry my XT1053 in my pocket. I just use the swipe screen unlock. I think I have disabled all the Google voice commands yet my phone is regularly dialing my recent contacts, often multiple times. I generally close all the open programs before putting the phone in my name pocket but I may have 6 to 8 Google windows open next time I take it out. What is causing this? I'm running stock Lollipop.
